DZO Film Catta Series: Premium Full-Frame Cine Zoom Lenses at an Affordable Price

Since the launch of the S35 zoom lens Pictor in 2019, DZOFilm has begun to think about meeting the zoom needs of full-frame users, and launched the first series of full-frame movie lenses, the Catta Zoom series, on November 9, 2021. Catta is a primate monkey that is agile and curious about its environment. The Catta lens gets its name from this. It is lightweight and compact, easy to carry, and allows you to explore more shooting possibilities.

The golden focal length of 35-80mm/70-135mm enables photographers to capture film images without sacrificing time to change lenses. In terms of adapters, all lenses are based on the E-mount, and there are additional RF/ L/ Z/ X mounts to meet diverse needs.

In February 2023, DZOFILM completes the focal length of the Catta series of zoom movie lenses with the introduction of the versatile and desirable 18-35mm T/2.9, which can capture spectacular wide-angle vistas and immersive action scenes. With a wider field of view and deeper depth of field, more visual information can be included in the picture, adding richness to the photography.

The biggest difference between Catta Zoom and Catta Ace is the material used for the shell. In order to reduce weight, Catta Zoom uses polycarbonate and fiberglass for the shell; while Catta Ace uses black aluminum alloy, which not only improves the comfortable grip but also stands the test of time. On the other hand, the Catta Zoom lens is equipped with a plug-in rear filter, which adds fun to the shooting experience. Users can freely replace the rear ND/UV/Streak/Mist filters, which is a configuration that the Catta Ace does not have.

DZOFILM provides users with affordable cinema lenses without sacrificing clarity. Whether wide-angle or medium-telephoto, the Catta series lenses have gentle sharpness. Even at full aperture, image quality remains clear and does not degrade, and the sophisticated optical structure design ensures natural skin tones. Catta has 16 aperture blades and an aperture range of T2.9-T22, which can produce round and smooth bokeh, and the image transitions naturally. It breathes invisibly when in focus and remains consistent all the way to the edge of the frame, allowing the audience to be deeply immersed in the plot. . The extremely close focal length helps users capture clear subject details and features. The combination of low dispersion lenses effectively reduces color shift. The Catta lens adheres to the design concept of naturalness, originality and authenticity with its exquisite design, and records real scenes on a small and comprehensive photosensitive element, which is convenient for post-production color grading. The specifications and craftsmanship are in full compliance with the unified standards of movie-grade lenses, and the 270° manual focus range brings users a smooth operating experience. The mechanical and optical structure of the lenses in the entire series are exactly the same, ensuring that all accessories can be perfectly connected when changing lenses.
