EOS R5 Mark II marks the beginning of a revolution in affordable ultra-high video quality

On August 22, 2024, Canon Hong Kong officially launched the new full-frame EOS R mirrorless camera EOS R5 Mark II

The EOS R5 Mark II is equipped with the newly developed Accelerated Capture image processing system.Combines a newly developed stacked CMOS image sensor, the innovative DIGIC Accelerator and the DIGIC X image processor.

The EOS R5 Mark II uses a new generation of Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system. One of the new autofocus functions is "Action Priority" autofocus, which ensures that the wonderful moment can be captured through new joint detection and identification of the ball's position. It also adds an eye-controlled autofocus function, which allows the camera to detect eye movement through the viewfinder and automatically focus according to the photographer's line of sight, making it possible to quickly switch autofocus between multiple subjects.

In addition, the new algorithm uses facial recognition and the new "registered person priority" to greatly help event photographers. Photographers can pre-register up to 10 people in the camera. Even if multiple people appear in the autofocus area/focus point range during shooting, the camera can still prioritize detecting the specific registered person.

In addition, the new "in-camera upscaling" function that uses deep learning allows photographers to choose to crop photos as needed after shooting, and at the same time can enlarge the pixels of JPEG / HEIF images by 4 times while maintaining the apparent resolution. The simplified workflow helps photographers to instantly produce high-quality finished products from selected photos without having to process them in other devices.
