Hong Kong, May 16, 2024 - Fujifilm Photonics Limited (FUJIFILM) announces the launch of the latest mirrorless digital camera in the GFX series - the FUJIFILM GFX100S II - in June 2024.
Equipped with a medium-format sensor that's approximately 1.7 times the size of a 35mm full-frame sensor, it delivers more advanced high-speed performance, enhanced movie recording capabilities, and lightning-fast autofocus. Each new generation of GFX system uses a newly developed 102MP high-speed sensor "GFX 102MP CMOS II" and the latest high-speed image processor "X-Processor 5".
Furthermore, by combining the color reproduction technology cultivated over the years with traditional film, it is able to accurately present the details of the captured scenes. By improving the pixel structure, the number of saturated electrons in the new photosensitive element has been increased, making it possible to use ISO 80 as the standard sensitivity. Compared to the previous model, the camera is able to capture images with a wider dynamic range and lower noise.
The GFX100S II is equipped with a total of 20 Film Simulation modes, including “REALA ACE”, which combines unique color reproduction and clear tonal expression to show a rich color range. By selecting a Film Simulation mode that matches the subject or scene, you can enjoy a variety of color expressions and present your work with unique style and emotion according to your creative needs. The GFX100S II is equipped with a Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function that shifts the image sensor by 0.5 pixels by precisely controlling the IBIS structure and continuously captures 16 RAW images. The 16 RAW files were then combined using the dedicated software “Pixel Shift Combiner” to create a 400MP image. Additionally, in “Real Color” mode, four RAW files are captured with one-pixel movement per shot, producing images with 102-megapixel resolution and suppressed false colors in just a quarter of the shooting time and data volume, which is more efficient than previous generation models.
These advanced technologies are perfectly integrated into a compact body weighing only approximately 883 grams, making it the lightest model in the series, allowing every photography enthusiast to easily enjoy excellent image quality. The GFX100S II not only delivers rich color expression and outstanding 3D rendering, but also features AI-powered subject detection, a significant improvement over its predecessor.
With a fast and precise autofocus system and high-speed continuous shooting capability of 7.0 fps4, the GFX100S II can easily capture details of moving subjects with unprecedented accuracy. In addition, the built-in body shake-resistant function has been strengthened to achieve the highest 8-level 5-axis shake-resistant performance, which is in the leading position among cameras of the same level.
The GFX100S II camera body is sealed in 60 different locations, allowing it to easily cope with adverse weather and environments, allowing you to shoot creatively at any time.
